The case should be serial numbered with the same number as the clock itself. The Army issue case is oak. The Navy case would be mahogany. The Army Message Center Clock will have an extra hand the Navy clock does not have on it and was manually set to a different hour than what the local time was. In Pershing Missile Operations, we always set this extra hand to Zulu time (Universal Time Coordinated, time zone 0.0) as UTC is the same all over the world.  UTC is a refinement of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). GMT was the standard worldwide time coordinator until 1960.
