Tadiran claims to have a version of the 2450 that is rated for a 50-year service life in memory backup service.

Not that that does many of us any good, but maybe those Gen Z collectors out there!

I have like three 5020 in the shop right now and all of them need new memory cells on the A7 card. The 5020 appears to want a 3B50 battery that’s rated at 1000mA and somehow think that’s a load of crap. Those cells are selling for almost $50 each! Was thinking of replacing them with a cheaper memory backup battery? ER32L65 cells are around $10 each, and Tadiran TL-2450 is about the same amount.

Anyone else have experience swapping out the 3B50 with anything else?

Somehow the backup battery in the head (A20) appears to last a lot longer, and they are all good.
