Thanks for the news.

Just a reminder. The "Moose and Squirrel" Cold War On Patrol Reconnaisance Net has moved to 5403.5 MHz. It is held on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday at 12 noon Eastern time. I like to operate portable. Some use military sets but all are welcome.

60 Meters is challenging at noon so I try to find a spot where the noise as low (and shady during the summer.)

Wantage NJ 07461 is having a military parade in town then meeting at Woodbourne park 145 Sherman Ridge Rd, Sussex, NJ 07461   park with.......
military trucks
live music
food trucks
reenactors
And so on..
They have asked me to put on a demonstration with the military radios and equipment..
Here is the mission........
I will set up a few manpack radios with the info for education purposes.
Then I will set up a PRC-25 (6m rig) and cross band it to the 147.300 repeater and have kids make contacts with any club member that answers them...
The exchange will look something like this.......
(kid) this is W2LV (club call) , does anyone have a copy....
(club member) replies with their call.. and possibly has a short qso.
It will be fun.. I will have literature about the club and information about what ham radio is.
I will have my two military communication shelters there and some tables for the radios with radar scattering military netting on top of us to shield us from the Sun... set up is almost non-existent..
You will need.
Chair, cooler with your own food/drinks and a table if you bring a radio to show.
It would be great to have a HF boat anchor on the air at the event.
Let me know if you are coming so I can get an idea of how big of a footprint I need..
This will be fun, and it's a great way to use our radios and educate the public.
If you have your old fatigues if you were in the service, this will be a great time to wear them.
The rain date is July 19th
Please respond to this email me direct to let me know if you are coming...

Best regards
Dave
