If you decide to do another run of these pcb’s, count me in. Maybe you can drum up enough interest in these groups to make it worth doing a new run.

Yes, you wouldn't know it had any mod at all , except that it would produce strong clean modulation.
I used to have a 1 inch square pcb that fit into most T-17 designs, but I sold out of them..
I've modified and simplified the design since then, so I'd have to re-design the pcb. anyway.
It's not a big demand item, so I make them on a proto board as needed for restorations.

Of the finished product? It’ll just look like a normal T-17!

Perhaps you could take a photo and copy the diagrams- I could post it to my web page with due credit of course.

There also more "electronic" mods using an electret microphone.
I made a stable two transistor self biasing carbon mic replacement and also a less stable but very simple single transistor type.
They both will produce clearer modulation than a NEW T-17 ever did . Carbon has very poor frequency response and they justt get worse over time.

The Air Show and Military Rally season has started. Perhaps it is time to consider an overhaul or repair of your T-17. There are several mods for more consistent output unless you enjoy banging the T-17 on the side of the table. That black taped telephone button repair is kind of tacky.
