That is fine. The mod has it physicslly located within the audio module and connected just before the filter choke.

I installed the resistor in the rectifiers output line, pin 5 of P111!, the B+ line.

I'm in the process of solid stating the power supply on a R390A. I need the value of the series resistor listed in the field change.
