The next two week ends you may hear some of our MRCA members
participating in the AWA's Bruce Kelley QSO Party using 1929 or an
earlier year homebrew transmitter. Usually a 1 or 2 tube
configuration. WB7WHG describes the event: "Since we use early
designs, it is a cacophony of whooping, chirping, buzzing, clicking,
drifting, swishing, swaying, warbling, and other interesting
signals."
Since we are forecast here in Chickenland to have 25 mph wind gusts
my signal will do its share of all swishing and swaying as the
antenna moves in the breeze and changes the load on the transmitter.
Attached photo of my 1929 Harley Oscillator. Tube is a Type 10.
