Thanks to the group for helping me find this.  R-1451 is an interesting communications receiver from about 1965.



Part of AN/WLR-6 "Waterboy" intercept system for submarines.

It's a straight forward solid-state superhet, but double conversion on the upper bands.  They managed to enable the counter to monitor the local oscillator, and calculate the frequency.  Crystal filters in the I.F., and one can frequency-lock to the counter.
