While working for a short time at Page Airways avionics shop in the mid 60s, I rescued an ARC-1 manual. In the binder was a modification instruction which was an auxiliary box mounted on the front or the radio set. A control box was provided to allow access to the additional channels. Also, channels were grouped into 10 "bands" within the 118 to 136 Mhz.  This banding facilitated tuning differences. The date of the manual was in the early 50's. It may have been another Comco mod kit? Wish I still had the book!!!

Hello,

Anyone here that is familiar with the AN/ARC-1 particular with the modificatio O version?

It looks like a post WW2 version with 50 crystal channels instead of the 10 for the normal version.

Thanks,
