Attached is a picture that was forwarded by a friend, small image and you have to squint but shows the United States and the Utopia of the Seas in the same frame. Although you may think it’s completely unrelated can think of no better example of why I run vintage
old military equipment and obsolete modes. Look at the lines of the United States, an Ocean greyhound, a class of ship that will never be produced again. Also, look at the Utopia. It looks like a container ship. I suspect it’s further offshore because I imagine
it’s a larger ship. The length between the United States and its Tug is eighteen hundred feet for scale.
If you’re running an ART-13 or BC-610 on AM you know what I am talking about. Those little plastic radios may be incredibly easy to use, cost lest and weigh almost nothing but they will never have the same look and feel of a generation now past.
