Ray,

I wonder what the CW or digital reverse beacons aka RBN or psk reporter looks like for the direction that your antenna is in..

Hopefully a lot of people are not tied up with their families to see if they can join..

I will be in the mountains of West Virginia for the holiday so if you want to get a report from me using a horizontal antenna let me know..

Best regards

Propagation never been my strong point, lots of layers and E things. But like I said, just ain’t getting any love from trying to copy WB2JWU at home. When I am on the road up in Hagerstown or at Red Ball have no problems but not in Maryland.  Copy K3TZJ in PA or N2MS in NJ solid but all the others are in the noise. Do have a high background noise level at home QTH that I have not been able to track down and maybe that has something to do with it? So, let’s see what happens tomorrow.

Funny!  M&S was formed by a Yankee so now there is going to be another succession?  <grin>

When I was stationed in the Philippines in the late 1960's, one of the Ground Radio techs in the shop, who was from Alabama, was bragging at an impromptu party that he wasn't a Yankee.  One of the local girls asked him what country he was from.  When he answered "the USA", she informed him that made him a Yankee!  Boy, was he upset!

Never understood the Mason-Dickson line thing.  None of the states bordering the line were Confederate.

Ducking for cover,

Ray,

This a very good idea ( I believe...) unfortunately, I will not be home in NC to participate but perhaps we can continue this in 2025....

Without a rotatable LPDA or rhombic oriented N - S , commo on 5357 with my northern friends is difficult....

Besides, we who live south of the Mason - Dixon line need to differentiate ourselves from them Yankees....

Let’s try calling a Southern version of the Moose and Squirrel Cold-War Clandestine Long-Range-Reconnaissance-Patrol Net Saturday at 1300 EST on 5357, think the regular version is over well before that. Although its southern will be open to all stations. I am located about twenty miles from the Virginia boarder on the Eastern Shore of Maryland  and will be running 100 watts, think it may be too cold this weekend but if we do it again will drag the M151 out and operate from that.
