I kind of understand the thing about multiple radios in the M-151. As an Officer, I wouldn’t like the idea of putting so many communication assets in one light skinned vehicle (I’d feel the same way about outfitting a 1/4 ton with more than 1 crew served weapon). But the thing is, vehicles are configured for a mission, and if the mission called for multiple transceivers in the Jeep, so be it.

When I served in Greece, my M151 was equipped with  an AN/GRC-106, and we to towed a 1/4 ton flatbed trailer that had two, 1.5kw generators on the trailer. We hated to run those generators - they were way too loud.  Hellen Keller could find us in the dark when those things were running.

I was an Artillery Special Weapons custodial officer and M&A officer. We supported the Greek Army. The systems they had that I helped support were the M-115, 8 inch Howitzer, and the Honest John Rocket system.

Hi Ray - Sounds like the J-654/G would work for you - I think that's what it was designed to do, handset AND speaker.

The PRC-47 AF output will break your windows but I think the adapter is just a dumb "TEE", probably a 3db-ish loss.  But with the PRC-47 no problem, I've also used it with the VRC-7/RT-70 in the truck.  I don't know about the GRC-106 AF output capability.

I have run the adapter in the Bronco - a handset at the driver's seat and another on the tailgate position for fixed-portable Ops, using a common LS-166. works fine.  I did not pay a lot of attention to any added AF distortion but it sounds very useable to me...
Should be fun to try!

Thinking that you may be the only one I know who has used a GRA-6 DC Remote before with a PRC-47 figure you may know. Been taking a real beating with local noise and my GRC-106, espicaley if I use the MEP-035 generator. Looking at the last video think you know what I am talking about. The big question is not about transmitting or control of the T/R process being that’s all straight forward. My question and according to your web page I think you did this is what about driving a speaker like the LS-166 using the twofer adapter (J-654/G) with the remote? Know it would work with a handset but I would like to set up a remote operating location away from the mutt, generator and all that sort of stuff and try that but want to be able to do the LS-166 speaker at that location from the GRA-6 remote and did not know if the transformers knock the receive audio down to piss week or if you drive the remote hard and then they distort?

As if this is not crazy enough also thinking of running UGC-74, MD-522 and that entire mess at the remote location too, stupidity has no bounds!
