Not an expert or anything like that, think Breck Smith (K4CHE) did a lot of research back in the day on the subject. Never been a big fan of the 611, always thought it was overcomplicated in design, and never used near as much as Hollywood
implies. Can see it netting with things like the SCR-284 but not much else. But that’s just me and as OP indicated he did not want this devolving into discussion of the 611.
