Attached is drawing of the primary DC distribution that I used, I bought the same kit and did the isolated radio bus from the battery compartment with all the radios feeding from that post along with a MX-7777 between that point and the
batteries. Isolated junction is the new stud, Battery junction is on the battery terminal and Starter junction is on the foot starter switch. That’s also where the new line from the 60 A Alternator terminates being they have like 0 Gauge cable from that point
back to the battery. I use the slave connector for connecting the external power sources. Have a MEP-035 1.5 kW 28 volt DC generator, external power supply and just picked up a huge heavy dynamotor that can be run from the slave connector that develops 120/60
cycles at 1 kW! Figure that during power outages can use the mutt to provide 120 volts around the house and that’s simpler to start then messing around with a generator.

Thanks Ray, it has the 60A alternator, I don't plan on running it all at once of course. When stationary and when possible I will be running the 47/teletype on the 3500W predator generator using an outboard switching power supply. When
using MUTT power I plan to use a 24-120 converter tucked away in the toolbox to run the teletype, all the radio's are powered from the MUTT using the factory cables and a government supplied kit in the battery compartment that gives a tie point for all the
positive cables, the old way had them all tied to the battery terminal. I would encourage anyone with a MUTT to install the battery upgrade kit.

How you going to power all that stuff? I found that the 25A Generator that came in the stock M151 is just about useless for big installations. The more modern 60A Alternator is way better and has the added benefit of being able to charge at idle. Also I used the MX-7777 surg suppressor and mounted it in the tool box right next to the battery box. That way you can use that as a hidden power switch for the radio bus. On the old style ATU for the VRC if you pop the cover you can identify each of the four different cards for its four bands, I did that and set the tuning for best at 51.0 being that’s about all you will ever use. Watch out that you don’t louse the spring and contact stuff in the base of the bottom antenna section!
Looks great!
