Very nice video, Ray - and a great restoration. It was appropriate to be listening to CHU on a Canadian receiver, eh?
I
have very little vintage/military gear here on Kauai, but the modern
gear I brought just isn't as much fun to work with. My TRC-77 CW
transceiver and its accessory bag were accidentally brought by the
movers. I must have left it sitting in my office near the stuff to be
brought to Hawaii. I am also working on a PRR-9 and PRT-4 that I hope
to bring to Hamvention for 51 MHz operations. They seemed light enough
for air travel.
Stand-along
military receivers like the WS-52 such as the BC-342, BC-348, command
set receivers, AN/GRR-5, etc have always appealed to me. They offer
relative simplicity and the signal clarity of being more closely
connected to the "ether".
Well done, sir.
