I always liked the form factor of the 5300. I have a box similar in style here
that I have been eyeballing for a while. I may build something 5300-like in
it.

Would it be sacrilegious if it did SSB?

       AM.  I think this was in case they had to use it to call in

             the range or weight of a PRC-74 was not needed or wanted..
             Kept in "reserve".  I understand only 500 sets were made.
