Hi Ed - Clatternet: Well it seems we don't quite have a "critical mass" out here to keep this going routinely as the East Coast guys now do. It ebbs and flows out here. We don't have much of a RATT Pack out west...
We are also otherwise more spread out than the East Coast troops.
We routinely had 1-2 guys in the San Diego area plus the PAC NW guys check in but mostly when we were operating on 10,137 kc and had good props over those distances. The PAC NW guys started Clatternet in the early 1980's (Dave Ross
et.al.) but at one point they had to QSY to 3587 kc to get local comms among themselves locally. That didn't work this far away during daytime so participation dropped off around here.
BTW, Dan has gotten the USS Iowa up on RATT as time/people are available. How about a cross country BB-BB RATT contact with the USS New Jersey using installed USN Mil gear!
