Hello Bill,

I just took a look at my BC-224H, similar setup.  I was doubtful, so I pushed up on the pins of the 41 from underneath., and removed the tube easily.  The metal collar is part of the tube socket, and doesn't seem to exert any friction on the tube base.  I think grabbing and pulling will do the trick.

You can see my BC-224H in action HERE,  Scroll all the way town to "On Th Air."

Al

Guys,

We are working on a nice BC224D on the USS Wisconsin. There is a 41 tube we need to check and it is being held in a ring type band with what appears to be pins. I looked under the chassis to see if they were screwed but didn't see anything. I know this has to be simple since tubes need to be checked from time to time..

Please any information would be appreciated...

Thanks In Advance...
