The R1155 capacitor rebuild process can be made a lot simpler by using a Hot Air gun - -  heat the cap for for a minute and pull the whole hole inner assembly out, gunk and all.  The result is a nice empty housing ready for the new caps. Military receiver restoration can often be very time consuming and tedious but with the proper techniques it can be very rewarding. In the case of of a historic receiver like the R1155 it is well worth the effort.
