While on the subject of PC RTTY this is the interface that I use going between laptop and 106, or some of the bigger systems at home and Harris radios. Now days use a Dovetron modem connected to the big Harris setup and that’s all balanced audio from the home QTH but at this time cheating and using the Toughbook, interface and GRC-106 in the field but hope to be getting a UGC-74 and MD-520 together over the winter and take mechanical teletype show on the road this spring.

I have used MITTY 1.68 on a Panasonic Toughbook for some time now, uses the regular PC audio card, the RTS for controlling the transmitter and will do any shift including 850 Hz. That’s the set up I use for running RTTY from the mutt with the 106 like at Gilbert.

It’s a free ware program and can be easily set up and used. I am using it in the field running an old laptop and windows XP.
