Software is not needed if you are actually running a teletype machine. Terminal Units with simple filters are easy to build and there are numerous surplus military terminal units available but my favorite military TU is the CV/89. Then transmit true FSK by using a simple diode keyer on the transmitter MO or oscillator stage. You can even put a ART-13 on RTTY.
Dis way you do not needen  no stinken computer.
