See if any of the carriers service Melborne.

Then inquire about 'counter-to-counter' freight service. If they don't do C-to-C, then just regular freight. 

I have no idea on cost, but it's an option that might be worth looking into.

I have to ship a receiver from Maryland to Melbourne, Australia. It weighs just over forty pounds all packed up.  FedEx is quoting $1,246.41 and two weeks to ship, DHL is around $850.00 and USPS is saying six to ten days for $295.00

Anyone have any idea why FedEx is so expensive?  Anyone got any ideas of how to ship that’s less expensive?
