Good Afternoon,
This may be slightly off topic but Moose & Squirrel Net users are also interested in portable operation.
Brett, WA3YRE, is sailing a boat from Atlantic City to Key West, Florida. The first leg was from Atlantic City to Chesapeake Bay. He called into the net a couple of weeks ago from the boat's ICOM HF SSB Marine radio during this leg. He started the next leg of the trip this week and is presently off Hatteras Island. You can check his progress on this program:
He was going to call into today's net but was on watch while the three other crewmembers were sleeping. The boat's name is FirstAmendment.
Besides the ICOM he has his PRC-320 along on the voyage.
Since they are sailing around the clock in shifts I don't know when he will have time to operate. He is probably too far south for the 60 meters net but may use 40 or 20 meters. If I hear from him I will post his schedule and frequency on this group.
He sends his greetings to all Mooses' and Squirrels
