Mike,
Glad you joined in.
The 10 AM Eastern local time (not Standard nor DST) is a net run by the MMRCG group so I added the group to this response. The net was organized for Military radios users hence the usage of USB but all are welcome who have an interest in Military radio or field operation. The default frequency is 7296 USB. Unfortunately AM operators operate on weekends so they try to find an unused frequency lower on the band. Today they operated on 7275 kHz. This net operates on Saturday.
The 12 PM noon Eastern local time (again not standard nor DST) is the Moose and Squirrel Cold War net run by the MRCA. It started as an "On-Patrol Reconnaissance and Clandestine net" but all are welcome, especially those interested in Military or field radio operation. The new frequency since the FCC Changes last month is 5403.5 kHz. This net operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
During the day 40 meters has a greater range so operators from New England to Southern states can be heard. Fortunately I am located between both of these regions.
60 meters is not as busy as 40 but with with present conditions I find I have a range of around 300 miles.
To Recap:
MMRCG net - Saturday 10 AM local Eastern time USB 7296 kHz (frequency subject to change if occupied)
MRCA "Moose and Squirrel Net" Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday 12 PM noon local Eastern time USB 5403.5 kHz
Since the Moose and Squirrel net operates at noon on Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday we look forward to hear you during the week.
