well, the radio was designed the US (by Collins). But you are most likely to find one built in Zagreb in the former Yugoslavia.

I looked into all all the radios that was suggested to me and I have to tell you I want all of them! Haha.
If it was up to me I would have the Jay Leno garage filled with radios and motorcycles.

As of now I believe the PRC 515 with the digital face fits the bill. Even though it's not an American radio as I stated in my must haves..

W2hx suggested this to me last year and I kind of looked into it a little bit. But now I'm ready!

I also operated Dales 515 when he camped at highpoint last year and enjoyed it.

So now I have a search ahead of me .

Best regards
Dave

I know if a syncal 2000 available in Italy. I'm a big fan of that manpack as it has a vfo knob. Might be the only military manpack radio that has it. Downside is it uses non-nato connectors for handset etc. But accessories are widely available.

Hello group,
I'm looking to buy my first HF green radio.. I figured that this group can give me some good ideas about what to look for.
Here are some things that are important to me.
Must haves
1. In manpac form
2. 40m.Lsb . 20m.Usb
3. Battery that can be recharged or converted to LIPO4
4. Something American, mostly
5. I would rather not mess with tubes.

I will be going to redball in PA for the event so anything looks interesting, I can buy it in person.
Email me directly if you have something for sale at KD2GIY at GMAIL.COM<mailto:KD2GIY at GMAIL.COM>
OR reply to this with any suggestions on what radios to look for.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
