Well, we?re going to try it again this Memorial Day Weekend (May 24) from the FDR Library in Hyde Park NY. I?ll have the BC-654 up on 3885 kc along with the Handie Talkies, and the BC-659?s will be up on 29.6 and 29.1 MHz. These are all WW2 sets. Nothing with big range.

Last night at our local radio club I demoed a DU-1 loop connected to my ARA Broadcast Band receiver.

And yes, I know the dial on the ARA is off.......

Cool, MMRCG will be located in the center of the flea market starting around 7736 all the way up to 7746, I am at 7739 The tent for MMRCG will be 7740 to 7743 stop by and I can provide a radio for you to use. Got a PRC-74 that you can use, the tie in is that back in the South East Asia war Joe Munson WA4VAG(SK) used a 74 to call in support from the New Jersey, BB-62 to reduce a ridge that was laying down fire on there position. He had a great account of just what sixteen inch shells were capable of doing.

The 5357 USB net will be fifteen hundred hours local, Friday the 16th.

More thought regarding 5357 or channel 3 at the Hamvention. Looks like there may be some interest in doing something Friday. Keeping in mind most of us will be running around buying and selling I am thinking of maybe three or four that afternoon? I will have a bunch of stuff there if anyone wants to borrow something to check in being I am planning on the big Harris Falcon stuff for the RTTY net and can use that, will have the Sunair backpack and a PRC-74 if anyone wanted so use them.
Personal goal is to try to get some of the people who we know will be there like Nick, K4NYW to get on the air at the event. Will see what happens. I am inclined to say that four on Friday may be the ticket, any other thoughts?
Also for those who don?t attend this is one of the opportunities to try to interact with us in the field. Its not uncommon when we do the 5357 net up at Gilbert for a couple stations back home to hear or work us directly.

Remember field radios are happiest in the field.
