Ray,
Sorry you have misinterpreted my comment. My comment was in reference to
"reenactor" events, such as Reading, Conneaut, Tennessee Maneuvers, Secret
City, etc. .
I do not consider the Gilbert, Red Ball or MRCA events to be "reenactor"
events. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Bold statement claiming the premier event title! MRCG West and their annual
opps at San Luis Obispo, Annual field opps at Hamvention been going on for
over thirty years now with the largest collection of working BC-611 on 3885
in the world along with Cold War Vietnam era equipment on the 51.0 MRCA at
Gilbert Red Ball MVPA get together. Ever been there? We are just up the road
from Reading with displays and field opps from eighty to two meters in
September.
Reading is cool, espicaley the air show. But it's limited to WW2 only and
you have to dress up in a uniform.

Hi Mark,
You're display sounds amazing. I would love to help set up a net, or help
out with your display, but I do not plan to attend Reading this year.
There are usually a couple of other hams there, sometimes with working
stations, but I don't know about this year. I plan go in 2026 with the
SCR-177B, and a few other lighter weight sets. If you're interested, Email
privately and I can give you some contacts.
The Reading WWII Weekend is a fantastic event, and the best, in my opinion,
for Signal Corps Living History. I have participated the past couple of
years, setting up with David Kormanicki (KB3ELD) and Jeff Post (KB9ZRB),
operating with the SCR-499, SCR-284, SCR-694, ARR-5/R-44, field phones and
others, including as special event station W3R, and also with a unique
simple very low-power transmitter on the AM broadcast band for demonstrating
Morale receivers. (shameful plug: The AM transmitter transmits 10 different
broadcasts on 20 different frequencies simultaneously, so it's like tuning
through the band of original WWII stations. Demo via an online receiver:
http://timewarptransmitter.com/ Click the "Live Online Demonstration"
link.)
No matter what, you'll have fun. Reading is the best event for radios and
equipment, and all of the WWII aircraft really adds another dimension. My
opinion, Reading is kind of like D-Day Ohio, but with slightly less people,
and more equipment, airplanes jeeps and trucks.

Hi Everyone
This year I will be participating in my first reenactors event. It will be
at the Reading WW II Weekend in Reading PA.
https://maam.org/wwii/
The theme for our tent will be a WW II USAAF Repair Tent (or similar; that's
still up in the air).
At a minimum I plan on bringing my complete SCR-274N system and demoing it
on AM. The group has a small generator and I'll bring my 28V supply with
batteries.
I am also thinking of leaving the BC-453 on for extended periods with one of
the local NDBs dialed in.
Some static displays I'm considering bringing are my BC-375 and BC-348Q, GS
and LOC receivers, test gear etc. Still up in the air.
Will anyone else be at the event with on-the-air radios ?
