[MRCA] firing up art13 issue

folks. 

finally got around to firing this up. I used Ted W3PWW R2D2 24 volt power supply and a dy17. When I first turned on the 24 volt on in manual local tune,  the autotune spun the knobs everything sounded ok.  I went to voice ,hit the test button dynamotor spun up.  no grid or plate. battery voltage was going back and forth between the white mark and slightly below   the 811 filaments were flickering.  I shut the set off wiggled the 811s and that seem to cure the flickering problem. Then I rotated the A and C controls to line them up exactly on their triangles turn the set on to voice  now the dynamotor fired up but i was not keying  it. when i keyed it in voice I got good grid indication and plate voltage and was able to light up a 100 watt lightbulb.  

in cw and mcw the dynamotor fired up and stayed running like it should. keying it resulted in grid and plate.  I did notice in voice the dynamotor stays running all the time and when I key it it’s putting out MCW. So I think relay 104 must be closed all the time which Controls the dynamotor as well as the MCW oscillator

any comments or tips would be appreciated when accessing that which I believe is on the bottom of the radio. thanks Jeff N2IA
