The UGC-136 is a mid-1980s era teletypewriter used shipboard on subs and
surface vessels by the US Navy. As of 2023 they were still in use aboard
some SSBN missile subs.
The Greenkeys group had been watching a surplus auction of 46 of these
teletypewriters in Las Vegas and when the price came down enough,
greenkeyer John Hargett bought the lot and is having them shipped to his
warehouse in Austin TX from where he will distribute them. He thinks cost
will be about $80 each plus shipping to you from Austin. Final cost TBD
after he gets the Las Vegas - Austin bill.
If you are want one or two or more contact John at kg5ylg at austin.rr.com to
get on the list.
Photos of these actual units are at the bottom of this page. They appear to
be unused since being overhauled in 1994.

I have restored a UGC-136A version and have photos and the 136A manual
posted there. I believe the main difference is that the B version has more
memory and an LED line display for editing. When John gets the B manual to
me I will scan and post it.
Kudos to John for making this rescue effort happen.
