Mark,
Man doing some searching in my 'stash' I thought I was able to fix you up but, alas, wrong item. I have a new CW-23049 antenna relay with mounting plate. However is for a GF-11. I tried, hi.

You get caught up in this stuff. I once was involved in bringing a B-24 back from India, mounted a D-1 sextant mount in the forward cockpit hatch, spent many hours on the project including a lot of my military leave time.

Hello everybody.
I’m looking to get 1 last item for the GF-12/RU-17 set up. I’m looking for the antenna relay CRV-29076. Then the whole thing gets put together and delivered to the WW2 air museum down south. FYI I was asked advice on actually installing the GF-12/RU-17 in a Dauntless SBD-5 dive bomber these folks are putting together to fly. I advised against it. There are a few reasons - the SBD is really too small to allow people to tour the inside of the aircraft. And if properly installed in the aircraft, this set would not be able to be viewed as it would be mounted inside the fuselage under the outer skin of the aircraft. Next, this radio is not capable of transmitting for use on frequencies still used by the FAA by aircraft. And finally, while earlier Dauntless SBD dive bombers were equipped with a GF/RU SET ( ie: SBD -3 used at Midway ), their aircraft is a later SBD-5, and the GF/RU set had already been replaced in SBD-5 by the ARC-5 radio.
The GF-12/RU-17 set would be set up in working condition with a ZB-2 homing modulator is a museum display separate from the aircraft. The SBD-5 will be displayed with an FM-2 Wildcat, F4U Corsair and PBY Catalina the museum already has.
This has been a very expensive project for me, which started for me by putting a GF-11/RU-16 together. But the museum wanted a radio typical of the radios used by USN aircraft at Midway, and the GF-11/RU-16 really didn’t fit the bill. Hence the GF -12/RU-17 project.
I really don’t have any plans for the GF-11/RU-16 set right now.
