I use a small soldering gun for heating and removing solder along with a sucker ball for removing solder, very small cutters and needle nose for removing leads and a controlled heat iron for replacing the connection. A month or so back did a video of constructing a power cable for a Torn Eb receiver and you can see more soldering fun there! Biggest challenge was in order to shot the video of soldering had to do it left handed so that was a bit of a challenge. Think that I have been soldering for over fifty years now so at least I learned to do something right.

I'm impressed woih your rework? How do you remove the solder on the original connection - a solder sucker?
