[MRCA] Recieve antenna on Noisy Band

During the winter I operate the Moose and Squirrel from home. Sixty meter noise levels are quite high at noon. I am also usually the southernmost station and sometimes the northernmost stations are occasionally weak.

I have three antennas, an Inverted L against 35 radials that I can tune from 160 to 20 meters. I have a low 80 meter Inverted V that I can tune from 80 through 20 but is does not get out as well as my Inverted L. I also have a 20 meter vertical loop I can tune from 20 to 6 meters.

I recently rearranged my shack so that I can easily switch antennas.

During today's M&S net the band was moderately noisy but I could barely hear KW1I the net controller. During receive I switched antennas as found whereas the receive signal was slightly lower the noise level was dramatically lower hence the readability significantly increase since the signal to noise ratio increased. I took pictures of on 7300 spectrum scope to show the difference. See attachments.

I suggest trying other antennas to impreove the signal to noise ratio. Just remember to switch back when transmitting.
