I plan on being at Gilbert. Don't know yet about field operations. All my stuff is WW2 except the CPRC-26 sets

Don't Despair! Although the big Friday afternoon net will be on USB 5357 from 14:00 to 15:00 Local there will be ample opportunity for WW2 gear like BC-474, 654 and maybe BC-611 sets during the AM net on 3885 from 15:15 to 16:00 and the CW Slow Speed net on 3570 from 16:15 to 16:45
The sixty meter net is intended for multipole backpack and vehicle stations in and around MRCA Gilbert, Beltsview lake and around the state park to net together with NCS but also those who cannot make the event to take part from their home QTH and see who can work who, we have had several portable stations at the event work fixed stations in the past. Real opportunity to try to put your NVIS skills to work.
I will have the mutt at Beltsville Lake as NCS and think last year we had about an equal number between backpack and vehicle stations and remote stations.
For the 3885 AM net thinking that I may configure a low power backpack for this year or may just default and use the GRC-106 again. And as always will be looking for someone to work as NCS for the 3570 Slow Speed (QRS)CW net because I am one of those Hams they warned you about who has no CW capabilities. I can provide hardware for NCS or you can roll your own. Will also have a spare backpack or two for anyone who wants to participate.
51.0 has been used for years now as a "official " push with broadcast announcements in advance of each net and also a convenient way to check to see if you're getting out or not so having a capability to operate on that band is useful.
In addition to this there will be pop up nets that take place around the Howell building that have included pack and handsets for 3885, 51.0 and 144.25 AM using primitive gear being real popular, where elses can you use a URC-4?
I also intend to be on the MMRCG RAT net on 7087 Saturday morning and the 7296 MMRCG USB net on Saturday.
