 Hello from K2LMQ in Arizona,
Too bad I'm not close enough to you guys to work in the Classic Exchange. I was on 80m CW for a few hours and operated my ART-13 / BC-348 Q coombe along with the GRC9 and TCS-12. Lots of fun!

 Hi Rob
Nice working you on your TRC-77!  I will be in the CX tomorrow -- do you plan to have your TCK on the air?

Greetings,

Follows my report from the Sunday session of the Classic Exchange, and OMRN/CW from that night.  There is another session of CX on Tuesday.
I started at 1445 on 40m with NVIS propagation in full. swing.  The 3 QSOs I made in that hour were all in PA, including Mark K3MSB with his SCR-274N.  Mark ended up being the only one of my 9 QSOs using mil gear.  I was running my TRC-77a and a dipole.

In the late afternoon(40m again) I made one QSO with the TRC-77a and then switched to my TCK/RAL combo.  I had told W1GF earlier while running the TRC-77a to look for me with another combo and I told him he would be able to tell the difference.  An hour later I answered his CQ with the TCK and he said, "U were right"  ;<)
The late afternoon/early evening session ended with CM3JRH at 2323, who was not in the CX.  I had planned to take a break from CX to check in on the OMRN, whose QSOs would all count in CX because we usually share what rig we are running.  After CM3JRH I went upstairs to greet my wife who was home after a week.  I ate a little ice cream and sat down with some Netfiix to pass the time until OMRN.
Cozy in my chair, I took an unintended break from consciousness until 9 minutes into OMRN.  Sigh, I'm too young to be too old for this stuff.  I tuned in and heard KK4RF turn it over to W2ILA.  I decided to skip trying to check in during the second callup.  I realized that I should have reprogrammed one of my 80m channels on the ProgRock to the vicinity of the CX frequency of 3545 instead of the 3524 I use for random ragchews.

Although the evening into night tends to be the most productive time for me in CX, it was also past my bedtime on a work night, so I took a break from the night session.  It was too much trouble to retune the TCK to 80m.  Call me lazy.
All in all it was way more breaks than operating.  Included in the breaks were dog time outside combined with firewood and antenna work,  and delicious homemade tamales with some friends at lunch.
