[MRCA] Ruggedized Buck Converters

For those who intend to operate a 12-14 volt radio from a 24-28 volt power scouce I received this product notice from DigiKey about a ruggerdized buck converter:

The metal case may help in RFI attenuation. Has anyone used these modules?

In my design days 40 odd years ago we used Lambda Switchmode supplies to replace large power hungary linear supplies in some equipment. In those days Lambda supplies were manufactured in their plant in Long Island. The only issue we had was intermitent operation with one model. An enginner came of our facility in downtown Manhattan and determined some of the crimps on certain lugs were not applied cirrectly. In those days the switchmode supplies were much larger than comperable supplies today.
