Some additional information on items at the sale:
I think the LF Transmitter that was there is a TAB being it was huge, just the thing for 630 meters. The HF transmitter that I wanted is a TBK or maybe a TBM? Don’t know how you tell the difference. There was a TCM also but that’s almost not worth mentioning in the shadows of the giants. I saw one of those “Radio marine” or whatever they call them AC/DC receivers for a Liberty Ship, but someone had installed a power transformer in it. Also for some weird reason bunches of ARN-6, Bendix and other assorted ADF radios but no ADF antennas?
Just started cleaning up this Marconi WS-52 receiver, whoever built that stuff used weird tubes, I pulled one out and would have assumed they were normal Octal, but they have a very strange bases, must be a round Bacon thing?
Anyway the data plate reads:
Receiver, Wireless Set Canada NO 52 C.M.C 108-953 ZA/C00072 Serial 8347
Did not get the frame or interconnect cables for the Mk. 9 stuff but maybe if I can get the time may try to get it together and use it on the 3885 AM Net at Hamvention. At least the MK9 sets have cases. I did get a power cable that mates with the connector on the back of the 52 for external power. If I get everything cleaned up may be able to power the set this weekend. Assuming +12 for filaments and maybe +180 or so for HT? Have to be extremely careful about the tubes being they are all unique to that set so want to be certain before applying power.
Have pictures and everything and will post them next week.
