The Grimeton station SAQ will transmit tomorrow at 15:00 UTC; one hour before the noon Moose and Squirrel net. You may want to pick it up if you have a receiver that goes down to the VLF range. My options are the vintage solid state Drake TR7 or the new AirSpy HF+ Discovery SDR.
Here was the notice posted on the Radio-Officers group:
The World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station, SAQ, will transmit a peace message to the world for United Nations Day on October 24, 2023, at 17:00 CET (15:00 UTC).The message will be on 17.2 kHz CW and transmitted via the station's 99-year-old 200 kW Alexanderson alternator. SAQ will also air test transmissions on Monday, October 23, between 13:00 and 16:00 CET (11:00 and 14:00 UTC). The full schedule for the event is as follows: the live stream will begin at 16:25 CET (14:25 UTC), startup and tuning of the Alexanderson alternator will begin at 16:30 CET (14:30 UTC), and the peace message will be transmitted at 17:00 CET (15:00 UTC). If you cannot receive it check out the live feed on the YouTube channel. It has a fascinating and complicated start up procedure.
