[MRCA] ARC-5/SCR-274-N “T” tuning cable connector

Any ideas why this would be used  and in what radio set up?  Provides a mechanical connection to tune the 2 receivers. But how woul the receivers be electrically connected to 2 operators  positions in the aircraft.
