Mike / Ray / Bruce,
We've attempted to support HFPack over the years by offering to run their net on Saturday afternoon. This goes back to the Hara when Mark KI0PF ran the net before the Hamvention moved to Xenia. Bonnie KQ6XA welcomed the support for her group but to my knowledge never once showed up to participate or at least offer some thanks for the effort. For the past couple of years we've stopped offering to provide any help.

They have many nets on 18.157.5. Why not mode the Military radio net to 18.160?

I think the issue is that the Ham of today has not had the opportunity to work with old technology and lacks the basic skills required to use that equipment and along with the fact that much if not all the new technology is so much easier to use, requires less space and on the average preforms better then the old technology that if you are just interested in doing QSO, chasseing DX, running digital modes or setting up a Special Events station you are going to go with what you know along with what you know works for you.
