I agree with you Mike. I was also surprised to see the contemporary rice box
gear and do not think it should be visible to the public. My friend Tim was
responding to encouragement from the group when they told him he should post
whatever pictures he had from his visit to the Missouri, and I did not edit
those pictures for content.
I can appreciate clubs working radio rooms from museum ships but I would
have hoped that they were restoring and using original equipment.

That's depressing. It's a lot more a modern ham rice box hobby shack than
anything of navy historical value. Museum ship organizations serious about
accurately portraying navy history should NEVER let hams do what we see here
on this ship. Put the ham station, if there really must be one, in the
visitors' center.
I was stationed on USS Intrepid in 1971. A old ship like Intrepid or
Missouri with relatively recent active service would never have those token
RBB/RBC and RAK/RAL receivers shown here. There should be a lot of R-1051*,
T-827*, RT-618*, AM-3007 and later gear visible.
As a ham licensed since 1968, a Vietnam ERA and Cold War
ex-LT-USN/LCDR-USNR, and one with long time interest in pre-1980 USN radio
gear, I believe ham radio fun and games on historical ships always
trivializes the ship's history and is a disservice to visitors...unless
*only* the proper contemporary navy radio gear is used...then *maybe* not.
