A recent post by Hue Miller had a link to a 1936 transmitter test report
from NRL (Naval Research Lab). I hadn't realized these had been digitized,
but there are indeed a number of interesting reports now on line.
A couple of searches turned up these -

https://discover.dtic.mil/results/?q=%22radio%20transmitting%20equipment%22#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=%22radio%20transmitting%20equipment%22&gsc.page=1

https://discover.dtic.mil/results/?q=%22radio%20receiving%20equipment%22#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=%22radio%20receiving%20equipment%22&gsc.page=1

Who knows what else lurks in the heart of the archives!
