Been doing a couple more GRC-106 set up and found something completely different! I am use to the AM-3349 amplifier having a case with the top section removable from the rest of the case and two access panels on the top, one for 2A6A1 the inverter and the other for 2A6B1 the blower assembly. Have two amplifier cases that are all welded and only have a removable 2A6A1 inverter and no panel for the blower. They both are General Dynamics manufacture and arrived with relatively late production RT-834 with 1974 date codes. The big thing is that when running the amplifier, it is noticeably quieter then the two part non welded amplifier that I am use to. My 1990 TM 11-5820-520-34 only shows the two-plate version of the amplifier and not the welded amplifier case. Anyone have any ideas?
