[MRCA] AT-1011 coax fed section

Friends,

Please see the attached photos which are of a coax fed antenna section about 16" long.  I have never seen this.  The top end has the usual AT-1011 threading but the bottom section has none.  The bottom section is hollow, about 3" in depth and slightly less than 1" DIA, smooth walled.  .  Have you ever come across this?  If so, on what type of base does such a coax fed section attach?  The bottom is electrically separate from the threading at the top.  The only continuity goes from the threading at the top to the center of the BNC connector.  Below the BNC connector is a screw,,, either for grounding or to the secure this section to a base.  Thanks!
