[MRCA] Saturday nets

Cool, The RATT net was a blast. Had issues doing 100% copy on a couple stations but others were all arm chair. K4NYW like always is on top of it. WM6P did a great job running MMRCG 7296 net shortly after. Ok, so the band sucked I had to fall back and run the Harris 1110 amplifier at 500 watts to be heard but what challenge would there be if everything was perfect all the time? A number of times I have worked that net running 100 watts or less.

My local noise on 5357 was S-10 at noon, weird thing is its all-wide band white noise so it’s like the entire noise floor is elevated but just on sixty, go figure. Fortunately, have at least a three more field events planned for summer and fall so hope to get on then.

Very little luck today. 60 meters was 100% dead at my QTH. 40m dead too. I hear the aurora borealis is coming south in the coming days. Maybe all related

Thought I would just take a second and rattle everyone’s cage about the MMRCG 7296 USB net tomorrow, Not been a lot of people participating lately so thought I would try to generate some interest.

10:00 EDT

Also the 7087 RTTY net has been doing well with an average of at least five stations every morning, remember that its 850 Hz 60 wpm.

09:00 EDT

MRCA M&S net on 5357 USB will be at noon, unfortunately for the last several months have had issues with local interference and week copy but will give it a try again.

12:00 EDT
