Tom:

It looks like the handset that belongs to an RF-1501A RF commercial two way radio from the 70s. It was made by RF Communications. I know that some came with optional handsets but it has been a while (45 + years) so I might be off on the model number.

The ones I saw were used as mobile phones that were not the ATT/Ma Bell phones. I believe they were called RCC, Radio Common Carrier. Several people were served by an operator and they could make phone calls from their cars. They were open systems and people would forget that it was like a huge party line with lots of people listening in. Some of the phone calls late at night got rather spicey!

sincerely,

I found this NOS mic in a box of microphones. I’m thinking it goes with the RF-301 transceiver. Anyone know for sure?
