[MRCA] Once again the Ghost of FDR strikes

Once again radio ops were a problem in Hyde Park. The vibrator in the Receiver power supply of the BC-654 decided it wasn’t going to work. Transmitter worked ok. So now I begin a quest to find the correct solid state kit for the vibrator.

Saturday was a wash out. And with it thundering outside, I wasn’t keen on putting up an antenna.  The one bright spot on Sunday - I had a  1944 Templetone  Moral radio the takes the same battery as the receiver side of the BC-1306 working. We were able to tune into the NY Yankees - Tampa Bay Rays baseball game.   At first, people thought the game was some vintage recording. It took a little bit for them to realize the game was both current, live, and being picked up on an 80 year old battery powered receiver. 

I did meet another ham who is a military radio enthusiast and reenactor at the show. Great Stuff. If I can get things sorted with my stuff, a military net is a very real possibility for the event nest year.
