[MRCA] NYT video on russian army ham radio intercepts

Some speculation as to the validity of this clip. Imagine the Russian may still be using older Tactical band (30 MHz to 70 MHz) FM equipment and some HF SSB equipment but also know that they have been moving ahead with deployment of Azart radios that were interduce in 2017
The Azart R-187 radios are a digital frequency hopping tactical radio that operates 27 MHz to 520 MHz and although I think they are not up to the Harris PRC-152 Falcon quality it's not a bad radio. Azart also has a vehicular version that's higher power, auto relays and will act as a host to local networks.
I have also read reports of Baofeng junk being used, wonder if the use there knockoff of the PRC-152 or if they are producing a knock off of the R-187?
Maybe the distances are too great for the digital sets and there is some reliance on HF SSB stuff as a fall back? Prior to wide spread use of satellite wasn't this what Falcons HF ALE was supposed to fill in for us?
Would be curious to see what others think.

How does anyone know for sure they are russian troops, not Ukrainian troops? The source is certainly suspect... ham radio operators and the NYT!!

Watch this. I think it will work if you don't have an account. Ham radio operators intercepted and recorded Russian army comms. Very cool.
