[MRCA] Mystery Acquisition... Revealed!

Lots of very funny guesses.  Thanks for playing along at home!

It is an NVIS mobile loop made by SMC (and SGC made the onboard tuner). Specs are below

The nice thing about it is it folds flat against the roof bars/roof rack when not in use (most of the time)

It will get installed on the roof rack bars of my land rover (Defender 110.  Not range rover - think soccer moms!) and will look something like this when done:
