Subject: [MRCA] B&G MVPA Show this weekend

Coming up this weekend will be the 47th annual Washington Blue & Gray Military Vehicle Trust East Coast Rally. Or what was commonly known as “The Aberdeen Show” because it use to be located in Aberdeen Maryland.

Well they lost the lease on the Ripken Stadium and canceled last year’s show due to COVID and are now going to have the show that’s normally just before Dayton (Xenia) in the spring on October 8th, 9th and 10th at the Hagerstown Regional Airport, think the Aviation Museum will be hosting them.

I talked them into providing a couple spaces in the tailgating section of the show, M11 and M12 for the display and operation of Military Radio equipment. I will have the MUTT a.k.a. self-propelled GRC-106 there and intend to work the MMRCG 7.296 and the 5.357 M&S Net on Saturday and will also have a table and tent on site if anyone else wants to stop out and operate or show off equipment. I will bring out a couple other radios like a PRC-77 and Russian R-107 for people to see and if there is any interest can bring out backpacks for HF or VHF.

Maybe if I get ambitious will drag out a laptop and try running RTTY Saturday morning.

All are welcome to come out and bring their radios to show or operate, the only restriction is that we cannot sell anything from those spaces.

The web address for the event, be warned that I think they have one of the most lack luster web sites of any organization:

And remember that November 6th and 7th the annual Able Archer 83 event will again be at Historic Fort Miles, Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware. In addition to having a couple stations up and operating Cold War era equipment along with the MUTT think we will also be doing some form of field exercise.

The web link for that event is:
