[MRCA] [MMRCG] FW: Shelby Hamfest

What’s the chronology of the Shelby show? Are Friday and Saturday the big days with Sunday being a dud, like Dayton? Do people show up on Thursday? Always amazes me that at places like Dayton some people check out early Saturday and miss the WW2 and Cold War Nets in the afternoon. But I know I have not attended Dayton, or Xenia on a Sunday in years being no one goes on Sunday.
Do we have a CP or central location for Shelby? Dayton has a default CP for the MMRCG and most Mill Radio people gravitate to that location at one time or another and last but not least are there any mill radio related activities at Shelby?
I am giving a lot of thought to packing up the road show for Shelby this year. Know that I will be at MRCA Gilbert but still on the fence about if I will be at Aberdeen, now Hagerstown MVPA (Blue and Gray) or the Sussex MVPA show.
Already looking forward to Dayton (Xenia) 2022.

THE “GRANDADDY OF THEM ALL” RETURNS TO SHELBY IN 2021

The Shelby Hamfest, a long-time late summer favorite in the southeast, will be held this year on September 3rd through the 5th, at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds.

This year’s event will feature usual exhibits, vendors and activities. The hamfest will be open to all, observing all safety protocols in place during the festival period.

Susan Ledford, Shelby Hamfest Chair for 2021, wants to invite everyone to the club’s 64th annual “Grandaddy of them all.”

She says: “We welcome back all past participants, and extend an enthusiastic invitation for new participants to come and be a part of the social interaction that can only be experienced by personal contact.”

“Our yearly event was paused last year, as part of a national effort to safeguard personal health and safety, especially for those who were at high-risk for complications.”

“With knowledge of effective protocols now utilized, we are confident that our hamfest can proceed as scheduled.”

Advance ticket sales, Vendor registration, and Camping reservations are available via the usual process utilized for previous events.
