 yup, I have commercial versions for octal, loctal, 7 and 9 pin miniatures.They come in handy occasionally.I never saw a commercial version of the test socket for the earlier "variable sized" pin bases. ( is there a proper name for those?).So, I guess you have to roll your own!

  Looks like J Mcvey figured out the mystery project - - he obviously does a lot of trouble shooting on equipment and recognized the adapter.   The "Tube Extender" can be handy for checking voltages  while the tube is in the circuit.  I didn't have an extender for the 1625 so while I was working on a couple of ART-13s I cobbled one together. The small diameter PVC just fits over the 1625 base and covers up the exposed high voltage wiring and secures the tube socket to the base. The glue gun comes in handy. Note that the PVC from a "Sink Kit" has a nice flange on top. Sometimes it is called a Sink Expansion Tube.  The test point leads were made from the shield removed from RG-174 coax.
